In today’s overcrowded business environment how do you differentiate yourself from all the other competitors in your field? What makes you different? REALLY DIFFERENT?
People talk a lot about branding, but what is it and how do you build a remarkable brand?
It starts with the simplicity of an explanation of what your business is about in 20 words or less. And it’s said in layman’s terms – not industry jargon or hyperbole.
When you can describe your brand this way people will remember you, refer you and speak about you because you become an outstanding brand in your field.
In order to simplify your brand message, answer these three questions:
- What exactly does your company do?
- Who do you do it for?
- What do you do better than your competition?
When you can put these thoughts into 20 words or less, then you will be on your way to building your unique and remarkable Brand.
Are you ready to get started now? Take an old-fashioned pencil and a pad and write down the answers to the above three questions. As you think about your answers, be exact, be succinct, be honest.
Part of a remarkable brand is the authenticity of the story you tell to your prospects and clients. That’s what will keep them coming back for more. Don’t try to be something or somebody that you are not. Remember that you are unique – there is no other company quite like yours. That’s how you begin to build your Brand.
