Do you remember the book… “All I Really Need To Know I Learned In Kindergarten??”

Recently, when re-organizing my bookcase, I came across this book someone had sent me and sat down for a few minutes to read the insights that Robert Fulgham brought to mind. I realized there are many of the same kind of ideas that are important to incorporate into our business lives that make us better people. We’ve revised a few to be more appropriate for business, but they have a strong meaning none the less.

  • Return calls…that means emails, too!
  • It’s okay to say No! Just do it politely.
  • Take time to listen and look at someone who is speaking to you.
  • Say you’re sorry when you make a mistake.
  • Don’t take things that aren’t yours.
  • Clean up your own mess.
  • Play fair.

How many times have we forgotten the simple niceties that we were all taught when we were young and impressionable.  Be a good Kindergartener and follow these Life Rules.

These are just a few that come to mind. Can you add some others of your own? We’d love to hear from you.
