Ted Polmar
Ted’s business background began in 1965 when he began working for a medical equipment and supply manufacturer. In 1970 he became Marketing Manager for IPCO Hospital Supply, a national distributor, where he developed new products for the hospital marketplace and traveled throughout the country training their 150 person sales force. He developed a disposable Electro Surgical Pencil, and the Patient Belongings Bag/Emergency Room Bags, still being used in hospitals nationwide today. Shortly after leaving IPCO, he developed a Hospital-Direct Sterilization Tray business selling to operating rooms and central supply departments.
In 1976 Ted founded Design Graphics, an advertising and marketing agency, developing ads, brochures, catalogs, product sheets and other collateral materials for local and regional clients. With the advent of the Internet in the 1990s, the agency grew rapidly by developing websites for small- and mid-size companies.
In 2004, Ted merged Design Graphics with MarketShare Communications, becoming vice president and co-owner. As the company’s Chief Marketing Strategist and a certified Facilitative Leadership Trainer, Ted has the unique ability to clearly delineate business problems using a team approach. He has successfully leveraged these talents to help MarketShare’s clients develop marketing and branding programs based on implementing sound business strategies that increase business revenues while growing bottom-line profitability.
Ted is a certified Facilitative Leadership Trainer. Ted co-facilitates the BizCircles Executive Forum with his partner Ilene Greene, at MarketShare’s office where CEOs and Presidents of small and middle market firms meet monthly to exchange ideas and share challenges about their companies with other business leaders. Ted also teaches marketing strategy and branding classes at the Continuing and Professional Education Center of William Paterson University.
Ted is currently working on a key MarketShare initiative to develop a new social networking program for business professionals to be launched in 2010.
